In October/November 2024, the world renowned minimalist photographer Rohan Reilly will personally guide an exclusive photography tour of the ancient and somewhat undiscovered island of Kyushu in Japan. This week-long experience, for a small group of only 3 guests, will provide many incredible opportunities to see and photograph both the architectural and natural beauty of this special place. There will be slideshows and presentations of processing images, plus one to one time and reviews. You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to see Japan as this very talented fine art photographer sees it.

Rohan has been visiting and photographing the Japanese coast and countryside since 2013:  'As a small group of 3 I can't think of a better way to explore the realtively unseen island of Kyushu. We will visit several of the locations where I have made some of my most recognisable images and I will talk about how the compositions and ideas came to be.'

There will be plenty of opportunities for you to make your own unique images and Rohan will be nearby for assistance when needed. Starting and finishing in Fukuoka, you will visit some of the most spectacular seascapes and landscapes and there will be ample time to take the 'perfect' photo. Too add to the amazing photographic opportunities on the adventure, the beginning of November sees the annual hot air balloon festival in Kyushu, and this provides many unforgettable moments. You won't be on a tight schedule, as we really want the group to have the opportunity to stay in a given place for as long as needed.  The weather is typically mild and there always seem to be a slightly overcast sky making it ideal for long exposure photography.
